Day 34: KL

Air Asia, why you so sketchy?
Consider me forewarned
You can see the trees on the hills are very uniform, making lines on the hills. We weren't sure if these were natural or not, because they look planted, but they literally went on for as far as the eye can see, it was mind boggling. We later learned that they were palm tree plantations, and that Malaysia is one of the top producers of palm oil in the world. The more you know.
I see something in the distance...
O frabjous day! Civilisation!
Disappointing meal. McDonalds in Malaysia... not great
"Hey Jackie, try this strawberry sundae" "Oh, well its kinda funky..."
"...WHOA it tastes like butt!"
And that's the story of the strawberry sundae that tasted like butt.

We found our way to the Rainforest hostel. Really nice place with cool rainforest themed decor, but at 45 CAD a night, it was a far cry from what we were paying in Vietnam.
At this point Jackie had an epiphany (ching chong ting tong ling long). She had a bunch of Starwood Preferred Guest points saved up, and after a quick log in on the internet, we were booked for the next 2 nights at the Sheraton Imperial hotel for 30 dollars a night. But for tonight we were done with lugging our bags around, so we settled in at the Rainforest for 1 night.

Madam Kwan's in Pavilion mall. Our first Malaysian meal in KL, as recommended by Helen
Nasi lemak. Coconut rice, curry chicken. So delicious, it should be a crime
Prawn noodles. As spicy as it appears, but deliciously spicy
Egg tart desserts

Making our way over to Petronas Towers. "It's getting bigger, we're almost there!" Alas, we were not
Made it
Everything's kinda... closed. What to do?
Bow down to the mighty Thor!
By Odin's beard! Verily, these egg flavoured tarts doth taste-th like butt
To be fair, the filling was quite good.. especially the red bean one! But the crust was no good! Blech.
