Night 19: Farewell dinner for Ayano and Ingrid

As quickly as we've met, it is time to say goodbye again. Since Jason and I are leaving on the afternoon of the next day for our extended weekend trip to Hoi An, it was a Wednesday night farewell for our new found friends.

"Ngon" in Vietnamese means delicious. This restaurant serves delicacies from all regions of the country. Despite seeming like an upscale restaurant, it's actually quite affordable and allows people new to Vietnamese cuisine to try a little bit of everything!

Me, Ingrid and Annie
Jason, Hazuki and Ayano
I forgot what this is called... but it is stir fried noodles with seafood
(L) Mì Quảng: Vietnamese Turmeric Noodle Soup originated from Quang Nam Province in Central Vietnam
(R) Bò Nướng Lá Lốt: Charbroiled beef wrapped in wild betel leaves, served with rice paper, vermicelli, vegetables and herbs (I love DIY dishes!)
Grilled Squid. We've had squid a few times before.. it's great in Vietnam! Not rubbery at all.
Our favorite dessert... Chè Sương Sa Hột Lựu. Coconut milk, sweetened mung bean paste, green tapioca, black jelly. Mix it all together and enjoy! Sooooo good. Much better than "three colored ice" back home. They have that also, but it's a little different than this one.
