Day 29: Hanoi 2 - Liberation

On Liberation Day, we started our day by visiting Uncle Ho's mausoleum.

Considered to be the Vietnamese people's Mecca, there were more Vietnamese in line to see Uncle Ho than foreigners

No photos allowed inside. But it was definitely an amazing stop on our trip. Jackie highly recommends

Sleeping on the job, that's a paddlin'

I'm pretty sure that ain't pork

after taking these photos, this lady wanted 60 000 dong for a bag of pineapples, 10x what we paid for a whole pineapple at the supermarket in Saigon. We told her where she can appropriately put those pineapples

Vietnamese banksy

Locals rub their money on the bell for prosperity and luck. I on the other hand, stand inside the bell for shits and giggles.

Toss your money onto a roof tile for luck
Jackie buying 200vnd worth of luck
Many say the Vietnamese are a short people. I say compared to their ancestors, they've come a long way.
Lunch: Northern pho part 2: the franchise

Vietnamese city in one photo: motorbikes and free roaming livestock. In that precarious transition of a developing country, the capital city of Vietnam is a sight to behold.
Trekked out to the Ha Noi train station. unless you're taking the train, not exactly an essential stop for a tourist
