| Thu Bồn River |
Our first day in Hoi An! We didn't really have an itinerary to follow, so we wandered the river front for a place to have breakfast. We stumbled upon a small restaurant with a window for a view of the river. For breakfast, we ordered White Rose (my new favorite dish of Hoi An after trying it last night!) and Cao lầu, another specialty of Hoi An that consists of doughy noodles, pork, greens and just a little bit of broth.

After breakfast, we were recruited by a man across the river for a one hour excursion on the Thu Bồn River. He told us we would have an English speaking tour guide, and that we would visit sites that have net fishing, water coconuts and Cua Dai Beach.
Side note: He also claimed that the tour guide was his sister... we've noticed that a lot of people who are trying to refer you to buy something always claim that it is their sister that they are referring you to... so shady!
Anyhow, our tour guide didn't really speak English... a nice lady and all, but all she would do is yell whatever it is we're supposed to be looking at (we could barely understand her) and gesture us to take photos. Despite all of that, it was a great way to relax and enjoy the morning for $2.50 a person!

| There's a paddle, but that's not how he traveled in his boat! He rode it more like a horse.. |
 |
| Net fishing. They only threw the net in as our tour boat was going by! Pretty sure it's all for show... but of the three things promised, this was the only thing we knew for sure we saw. |
Why do they claim it's their sister?
ReplyDeleteare you guys going to Da Lat at all? If so, make sure you go to the place where you ride a rollercoaster (that you control yourself) down a mountain to look at a waterfall. I forgot what it's called.
ReplyDeleteNot sure.. haha.. so dodgy.
ReplyDeleteNope, no Da Lat... we had to pick and choose... we would've also like to go to Sapa and Hue.
